More Landscapes

These landscapes are created using a set of arbitrary rules I make at the beginning. 1. use only things in the house: plastic, aluminum beads, blanket, and painting I made. 2. use black and white and 3 use different focal points in the photographs. Now that I have had time to think about these I believe the California landscape is seeping into my work. Mountains, sea, surf and sky is what I see. Maybe you see something different? Let me know. Outside

... Just recently began making art again. It feels great to get started. My background:  BFA - Studio Painting, UofH, studied at the Royal College of Art in London (exchange student), studio assistant for Frank Stella mural hanging in the Rebecca and John J Moores School of Music,  University of Houston, TX. This fall 2011 I enrolled at San Jose State University. Planning to learn more about photo-making at SJSU. Along with learning about my Nikon, I am also learning Adobe Lightroom. This photo on the left is one in a series about landscapes -- a landscape of my own creation. It's also a self-portrait. These photos are created by merging two photographs. It's my intent to mix my love of abstraction with the view from my camera lens. All of my paintings are abstract but drawn from the real-world or video. Merging these two art forms is kick-starting my interest in making something new.
